Old DreamsIn a dream, the light is yellow. White. I can’t open my eyes. I can’t find what I need. There is too much to carry. I see a father drink water from a lake using a mason jar. The water once effervescent pink is now Mars black. So it inks his teeth like oil. He has been tricked. His wife is the sin Sloth, draped over an armchair. The click of cloven hooves that wasn’t in their home before. His daughter’s doppelganger embraces her. It traps her arms at her sides. I hear her bones crack. All the curtains are pulled, and there is one girl left in the room.I need every wristwatch in the drawer. I don’t know if they’re mine. It’s vital I know the time. I find a dead bird, gray, on the pavement. I put it in my school bag. I don’t know why. A brother collects shards of ice from the springtime creek. His younger brother didn’t know they both loved the same woman. There is an old, cracked urn in a clearing among the trees. It is half buried in the earth and dead, pale pine needles. I hear inside whipping black bats’ wings. The brother demands they sever all ties. The young brother agrees. There is a creature, small and frog-like, that watches the events unfold with me. It speaks in human tones, “That’s interesting. One brother is doing this out of love.”My teeth fall out in my hands. I have black, feathered wings twice my height, but my body can’t fly them. I can see the setting sun refract off the veins of melted snow. Droplets slide down the window one at a time. The man I love is a dysfunctional machine. His head filled with metal springs and cogs. His smile is orange and hazy. He takes my hand overtop a dilapidated, sagging seat in a school bus lodged in the mountain snow.

Hello all!! I have been writing for about 5 years now and am a devoted poet. Problem with us writers here on deviantart is that it's really hard to get feedback sometimes so I have created this group in order to gather a large community of members whose goal it is to help other writers and maybe brighten someone's day with some kind words. So please join! But please don't join if you have no intention of commenting on poetry or interacting with other members. Thanks. Can't wait to read what you have written!!

~emoMCRluvr
Hey guys! Like my friend up there said, this is a club for poets to get feedback on their work, and to get more attention brought to everything you've worked so hard to produce! While writing is not the biggest thing I do, I love it, and I look forward to getting to know you all and reading everything you have to offer! Have fun, and keep writing! :D

... one small question ...
You made me smile at a time, that all I did was cry.
You were there for me, even if you didn't know.
And now you're gone – without a word
left me alone…
I'm not mad at you, it was your choice
But still there is one small question,
that keeps constantly playing on my mind
WHY
– why you left without a

Afraid To Be Alone (Poem)
It's obvious being alone is one of your greatest fears
It's why you fall for any man who can sweet talk you in your ear
You know you've been through all this ordeal before
But you ignore the signs and to your heart you always open up the door
It's like you don't believe you're really worth it any more
Every man you've let in takes all you have  and demands more
Stomps over your heart and just lets your tears pour
Time for a change, you need your body and soul restored
You need to look up and see there's more to your life story
You need to accept the need for change and just give Him glory
Submit to a greater plan, you're better off in The Lord's hands
You've done it your way and have only found disappointment in the hands of man
The Lord has promised to never leave nor forsake you
That's more than any man who claimed the same truth
For all the promises God gives, He always sees them through
Time to shake off the pain and rejection your heart has bounded to
It's not to late to change th

My Final Goodbye (Poem)
I sit here thinking of time that's past
Wondering why love never lasts
I could read books and countless sources
And all I find is theories & pointless courses
On what to expect and how it works
How it gets better and how it gets worse
Love is a lot of things, except easy to find
I was fooled into thinking that you were mine
Love is beautiful, but only when it's true
But you may think it evil, when you rush into it like fools
I thought the world of you
But I was truly wrong
You had me feeling blue
Like a bitter ending in the saddest song
How many I love yous were really real?
How many times did you say what you really feel?
A relationship as bad as ours should never be revealed
Locked in the past, it should stay concealed
With every I love you I gave my all
With every lie, you made us just fall
Like a child on hands and knees, I was forced to crawl
Can I ever write poems of love that's real?
Or do I only deserve love that doesn't feel?
Am I forced to be a thief?
Is there a love I can st

Paid in Full (Poem)
Imagine it as if it was happening today
The hour was dawning in which it would be His last day
Jesus, took 3 of His disciples and went out to pray
As the death He'd prophesied was but a short time away
He began to be filled with sorrow and became deeply distressed
"My soul is exceedingly sorrowful even to death.."
So strong was his distress that blood expelled as He sweat
Three times He asked them to stay awake and pray but three times they slept.
"Are you still sleeping and resting? Behold the hour is at hand,
And the Son of Man is being betrayed into sinners' hands.
Rise, let us be going. See My betrayer is at hand"
The betrayer Judas arrives and with a kiss hands over the Son of Man
Through unjust trials He pushed right on through
Never denying who He was as King of the Jews
They mocked and jeered and their blood lust grew
Crucify Him! They shouted, though His innocence was proved
Tortured, humiliated, battered and bruised
He knew the cup He'd drink from was to save me and you

Learning to Live (Poem)
Humility for me was never a virtue, nor one of my strengths
In vanity I lived, in vanity would have been my end
Reprobate is a lifestyle, usurped into the minds of man
How could we value others, when selfishness is our best friend
The same tired cycle day after day
Blinded in ignorance we can't see how we're enslaved
We've idolized the creation and the Creator we've put away
As if the creation was the source from whence we came
But glory to God a plan is always in place
That brings us back to the design that He originally made
Living to love Him and others is the lifestyle to strive for each day
Though impossible on our own to achieve, He made a way
Living for others, all my needs have been supplied
Through Him I've learned the real values in this life
That there's much more to life than what meets the eye
And the simple art of blessing those whom pass me by
I've learned to value what comes next
Once this body has been laid to rest
That though we mourn those who have left
There will co

Much More Than Entertainers (Poem)
You were never called to be just a simple entertainer
When you have the fire of God you can be a world changer
But if you end up trading God to gain the world's favor
The truth is that you've placed your eternal destiny in danger
Do not be conformed to the world, tempted by its temporary pleasures
It's just a way to hold you back from discovering life's  true treasures
You can love the world, but it'll rip you apart, becoming your oppressor
But glory to God, the Lord is always willing to put you back together
You can choose to entertain the world and be forgotten a few years later
Or you can change the lives of total strangers, and always be remembered
However, keep in mind when doing right you'll always have the haters
But how you deal with them now, can leave them changed forever
To whom much is given, much is required
You've been given much influence, use that to fulfill God's desires
With God at the top, you'll keep reaching higher and higher
May the Lord put in your spirit an unqu

Sincerest Hope (Poem)
I'm not looking for sobs, I'm not looking for tears
I'm praying that you'd want to transform the rest of your years
That you'd make that decision that would deliver you from all of your fears
And that all the confusion in your mind would be finally cleared
It's been so long, but I'm still here
Praying and believing that you'll let God near
That one day I'd wake up to the sound of music in my ear
Hearing your voice worship, singing, how Jesus changed your life after so many years
I'd often ask my self Why is this so important?
Why not give up the hope and just ignore it?
Why feel discouraged when I hear you're still exploring?
Frustrated when I see your so close to exploding
I realized it's not because I'm still tied down to you
Not because I can't forget the time I spent with you
It's not because my heart still belongs to you
It's simply because I may have never found Him myself, if it weren't for you
You're beautiful, you're gorgeous, yes that's all true
But what does it matter, when

Breakthrough The Cycle (Poem)
As the heart aches the mouth profanes
To habits and addictions we've become enslaved
Our frustrations increase as our sin remains
Yet in our strength no progress can be obtained
Only when we are so broken, it's Him we start seeking
The one whom in our suffering has been silently weeping
His words never ceased as He has always been speaking
We ignore that voice that has been internally preaching
He sends out His faithful to testify of a love so great
It is not in His nature to forsake and let you fade away
He is determined to bring you back to that wonderful place
That in your search to fill your heart, you lost the way
Now you sit in worry, pain, and sorrow
Hoping for that miracle, a new tomorrow
Consuming all that will help you numb it all and let you forget
But your own strength only brings a new day with more regrets
Look into the depths of your heart
Remember that even you, He has set apart
From your side He hasn't chosen to depart
Take it now, seize it, and accept to restart
Jesus

Hoping That You'll Find (Poem)
Letting you go wasn't the easiest thing for me to do
Even though forgetting me, seemed so easy for you
Took me years in fact, but in the end I could finally see
I couldn't save you, not even as the man you needed me to be
I had always seen you as my little damsel in distress
That as the hero, I could rescue you and well you know the rest
But I couldn't be the hero, I wasn't prepared for such a test
Forgive me, if instead of relieving, I may have added more stress
It's been over a year since we legally separated
It was a weird feeling to be both relieved and devastated
But I didn't write this to reminisce, or turn back time
It wasn't to incite anger or to have lines to rhyme
It's to tell you that I hope in the near future you'll find
A man who knows much more about love than you or I
One who isn't afraid to go to God when things aren't going right
One that will motivate love more than incite you to fight
A man who's willing to love you beyond what the eyes can see
That through love, you

God Always Comes Through (Poem)
Sometimes we live through a horrible experience
It's not easy to wrestle with personal demons
In our impatience we do things we shouldn't do
But even then, in the end, God always came through
The things we hate, those things we do
The things we'd like to do, those we can't do
If Paul the apostle went through it, so will you
But even then, in the end, God always came through
When we  misaligned our minds from the will of the divine
Sin seeped through to seduce with promises of good times
Promises we paid a heavy price believing they'd be true
But even then, in the end, God always came through
Whether your affliction is violence, sex, or drugs
An unlisted addiction or all of the above
And though you feel that this is all there is for you
Remember that in the end, God will always come through
It's not because you deserve it or He owes it to you
Not because of your talents or the work that you do
It's because He really loves you and His promise to you
Is that in end, He will always co

The Need To Move On (Poem)
Why does it all still haunt me
Why do memories still taunt me
It may all just be in my head
Mental thoughts as if to be led
To think I've not moved at all,
even though I've begged
To be at peace but instead
My peace was merely a temporary shed
Blown away by the winds of a time I've left behind
Now it's found me again and I look for new signs
I can only see that evil smirk as the enemy thinks of my demise
Now I pray to my Lord who hath saved me time after time
Why has my right to love feel more like a crime
Why must I live in exile of my own feelings of my own mind
Save me Lord and take me into better times
I may not deserve it Lord but i know that you are kind
I wish not to be lost in my own remorse and transgressions
Only you o lord have the root access to restart my life session
I don't want to hate any more
She that has left only pain and anger in my core
Why is it that I haven't truly moved on
Help me find the reason why my season of peace is now gone
I can only hold on to the rock

Tease
Ever since I was a child I have never laughed or smiled
Always occupied by thoughts of how I'd some day meet my end
And right over my shoulder there's a woman, growing colder
For my coming death has always and will ever be my friend
In chronological perfection I am driven to obsession
Hear the metronome now ticking down until I meet my fate
And in every lonely minute I can feel her here within it
Her presence pressed upon me like a dark and heavy weight
To stop the march of time cannot surely be a crime
To try to cheat my coming death until I lie in twain
Lady Death I will elude in our grasping, twisting feud
I was born to be a tease and a tease I shall remain

Be still
Let me sketch my favorite parts
in gray, wet graphite kisses
along your neck
your breasts
and your belly
Let me trace your contours
in thick, jet black ink from my fingers
up your arms
down your sides
to the hips
Let me give your face
sweet silhouettes to stand out
around your lips
over eyelids
Across the ridge of your nose
Let me blow lightly over every inch
a base of baby blue to give you goose bumps
from the forehead
to your tiny toes
back up to your inner thighs
Now help me add the colors:
The dripping red of a deep kiss
A playful bite outlined in eggshell
Lime green beads of sweat
Smeared black hand prints
Lemon pink splash from a friendly spank
Quick pecks in soft peach splatters
all blending between bodies
Swirling, smudging as we struggle

Poem For My Baby Girl
Poem for my “Baby Girl”
From: Muti and your Mayonaka Family
Baby girl, my sweet little “child”...
Every night when I head to sleep,
Our last conversation lingers in my head
All night long.
Sweetheart, do you realize,
That your pain is our pain?
I know what you think…
You think you’re a burden
To your father and I
And the rest of our Ohana.
Is that why you distance yourself from us?
My dear daughter,
I hope you realize…
When you cry, we can feel your sorrow,
And when you’re frightened, we share your fears,
And when you try to be aloof, we feel excluded,
And when you feel despair, we feel helpless as well…
Your emotions really matter to us,
Despite the fact that you think that it’s a waste
To burden the Ohana with such things.
Baby girl, my sweetheart,
I want you to believe.
Believe that you’re special.
Believe that you’re extraordinary in a good way.
Believe that you’re truly important.
Believe that we ALL

Hi everyone!

I now work full time as an engineer and it is very hard to keep up with this group. Even when I was in school I could at least accept submissions into the group on time. When I suddenly noticed submissions were becoming expired in the time I had the chance to check on things I realized it was time for a change. If anyone is interested in taking this group and turning it into something beautiful, please contact me.

I started it with the intention of it being something great, and by the amount of people that have joined over the years, it has. However, by great, I want involvement, criticism, conversation. I know some of you out there can fulfill that by encouraging others to participate. Please message me if you are interested.

I would absolutely love to see this community blossom! <3

PS: I will always reply to direct messages (notes) if you ever want me to read something or chat or give any kind of advice, so feel free to contact me any time. ~Sara
